Product Introduction:

316L stainless steel plate is an excellent corrosion-resistant stainless steel material with a wide range of applications. It is a low-carbon version of 316 stainless steel, mainly added with 2% Mo element, giving this steel good resistance to reducing media and pitting corrosion. The characteristics of 316L stainless steel plate include:

Corrosion resistance: 316L stainless steel has suitable corrosion resistance in various organic acids, inorganic acids, alkalis, salts, and seawater, especially in reducing acidic media, its corrosion resistance is much better than 304 and 304L. This is because the molybdenum content in 316L is slightly higher than that in 316 stainless steel, making 316L widely used under high temperature conditions when the concentration of sulfuric acid is below 15% and above 85%. It also has good resistance to chloride corrosion and is commonly used in marine environments.

Processing performance: 316L stainless steel has good processing performance and is suitable for various processing methods, including cutting, stamping, bending, welding, and machining. This makes 316L stainless steel plate widely used in the manufacturing industry.

Mechanical and physical properties: The tensile strength of 316L stainless steel is usually between 485 MPa and 620 MPa, the yield strength is between 170 MPa and 310 MPa, and the elongation is between 35% and 60%, exhibiting good plasticity. Its hardness range is Brinell hardness (HB) between 140 and 230, and Rockwell hardness (HRB) between 70 and 90.

Application areas: 316L stainless steel plate is suitable for products with special requirements for resistance to grain boundary corrosion, such as industrial fields such as chemical, synthetic, fertilizer, and civilian fields. Due to its excellent corrosion resistance and good processing performance, 316L stainless steel plate has important applications in many industries.

Standards and Steel Grades：

Depending on the different standards and requirements, 201 stainless steel pipes share different standards and steel grades in different areas and countries.

Under American standard, 201 stainless steel pipes follows standard ASTM A312/A312M.

Under Japanese standard, 201 stainless steel sheets follows standard JIS G3459-2004, JIS G3448-2004, JIS G3463-2006, JIS G3456-2004‌.

Under European standard, 201 stainless steel sheets follows standard EN 10217-7, EN 10312, EN 10216-5‌.

Under Chinese standard, 201 stainless steel sheets follows standard GB/T 14975-2012、GB/T 14976-2012、GB13296-2013.
